[edit]- Preloenber (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) – On Https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pylewell Park ([1]): actions evidently indicate a vandalism-only account. Account created solely to deface and libel anything on Wikipedia connected to the family that own the home and title. Accused editors (me) that are just local to the area of being the person they're targeting and ignoring the policies being quoted with each roll back of their edits.

Current requests for reduction in protection level
[edit]Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin on their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.
- To find out the username of the admin who protected the page, click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page," which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
- Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
- Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
- If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page, please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected, please use the section below.
Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.
Reason: This page has been protected for *ten years*. It is the only engine page for major US manufacturers that is. It is not an *inherently contentious* page like many on religion, sexuality, ethnic strife, and such (which can remain persistently problematic). The page has had plenty of time to ride out a spate of probematic editing/unregistered editors. It needs the opportunity to be freely edited, and settle itself down. 2601:196:180:DC0:4842:76FD:4D84:35D5 (talk) 15:26, 7 February 2025 (UTC)
- FYI Biblioworm. There's certainly a lot of disruption on car articles generally, but I'm not sure about a specific engine nowadays – I checked in the archives and the last time we had an engine-related request was in October (note that I only did a Ctrl+F check and that the Ford IP seems unrelated to this one). Sdrqaz (talk) 17:17, 7 February 2025 (UTC)
Current requests for edits to a protected page
[edit]Please request an edit directly on the protected page's talk page before posting here
Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.
- Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among
{{Edit protected}}
,{{Edit template-protected}}
,{{Edit extended-protected}}
, or{{Edit semi-protected}}
to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed. - Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Wikipedia:Suggestions for COI compliance), the
{{Edit COI}}
template should be used. - Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Wikipedia:Requested moves, not here.
- If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
- This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.
In the lede of this article second paragraph, it mentions "prompting Israeli forces to fight back and apply the Hannibal Directive against its own citizens." The mention of the Hannibal directive is gratuitous and disputed by plenty of sources. At worst, the directive, according to disputed sources, led to 14 deaths. Given its extreme minor significance in the attack by Hamas, it should be removed from the second paragraph. The next sentence also makes it seem like it was the Hannibal directive and not Hamas which killed the majority of Israelis.
As an aside, this change was made by an extreme anti-Zionist who is clearly attempting to push his personal perspective on the article. Apndrew (talk) 20:34, 8 February 2025 (UTC)

Autopatrolled[edit]
I've seen this editor's work on multiple occasions at New Page Review. Has created 208 pages, none deleted, more than 3/4 of them B-class. High-quality page creation with infoboxes, quality references with proper formatting, images, etc., requiring no cleanup by reviewers. Dclemens1971 (talk) 17:38, 9 January 2025 (UTC)
Reason for requesting autopatrolled rights I have created almost 50 articles and whilst producing these articles I have developed my understanding of wikipedia policies, conformed with the rules for biographies of living persons and have improved the content and formatting of numerous articles. Concise, well-written and sufficiently articles, mostly with a royal or Church of England focus. I looked at an articles of theirs as part of NPP, and found it to be up to standard without editing. Others look reasonable too. Klbrain (talk) 12:15, 18 January 2025 (UTC)

It is my 8th year of editing (4th with this account). I have written a number of articles of various types and none have been permanently deleted. I have made mistakes, but understand what they were and how to avoid them. About to publish many geography stubs (manually written, differing in content, not violating MASSCREATE - see Ledenice and Zapeć for examples). Articles like Cirsium greimleri, First Vrbnik Breviary, Petər Klepəc and Veternica are more representative of my work, though. Ivan (talk) 17:48, 27 January 2025 (UTC)

New page reviewer[edit]
Dear Wikipedia Administrators, I would like to formally request the permanent assignment of the New Page Reviewer permission. Since being granted this role on a trial basis, I have actively contributed to reviewing new pages, particularly those related to Iran, Persian language, and Persianate culture areas in which I have both expertise and a long-standing editorial commitment. In addition to evaluating new articles, I have assisted other authors in completing their work, providing guidance when they were unfamiliar with Wikipedia's guidelines. In cases where further intervention was needed, I took the initiative to edit the articles myself to ensure they met the necessary standards. I believe my trial period as a New Page Reviewer have demonstrated my dedication to maintaining and improving Wikipedia’s content. I remain committed to collaborating with fellow editors and ensuring that new articles align with Wikipedia’s guidelines. I appreciate your time and consideration. Best regards, Hounaam (talk) 11:28, 2 February 2025 (UTC)
I've had the NPR rights on a temporary basis for about a month and a half, during which I reviewed around a 170 pages, tagged articles with necessary cleanup tags, and nominated a few for deletion. I would appreciate the opportunity for an indefinite renewal of my NPR rights to continue contributing in this area. ZyphorianNexus Talk 03:21, 4 February 2025 (UTC)

Hi. Currently the third most active pending changes reviewer on DreamRimmer's list, and I thought I'd try my hand at some larger-scale work of a similar fashion – rather than reviewing edits, reviewing articles. I'm good with newcomers and know how to work on articles. I'd also like to help reduce the frighteningly large backlog. Thanks for considering my request. 🐔 Chicdat Bawk to me! 12:25, 7 February 2025 (UTC)
My permissions expire at midnight UTC on February 8, so I am here to request a renewal of my new page reviewer permissions following its expiry. I would like to request rollback permission to help combat vandalism, particularly in Nepal-related articles, which I frequently come across while patrolling recent changes. Having rollback rights would allow me to efficiently revert obvious and disruptive edits, improving the quality of affected pages. I always assume good faith and am careful when reviewing edits. If I am uncertain whether an edit is vandalism, I do not revert it. I am also familiar with Wikipedia’s warning templates and know when it is appropriate to report persistent vandals to WP:AIV. I believe rollback will be a valuable tool in my efforts to maintain Wikipedia’s integrity, and I will use it responsibly. Thank you for your time and consideration. I'm requesting this right to revert vandalism from the all the articles on Wikipedia, especially India related articles. I'm also patrolling recent changes from when I started i.e. almost a month.Xiphoid Vigour ༈Duel༈ 05:53, 1 February 2025 (UTC)
I have been actively combating vandalism on Wikipedia for some time, especially Taiwan related articles. I regularly monitor recent changes and undo obvious vandalism while ensuring that good-faith edits are not mistakenly removed. Having rollback rights would allow me to revert vandalism more efficiently, especially on high-traffic pages. I am familiar with Wikipedia’s policies on vandalism, edit warring, and proper rollback usage, and I will use the tool responsibly to help maintain the integrity of the encyclopedia. I do not foresee using the Rollback function very much, but it would be useful, from time to time, for undoing vandalism or seriously botched edits. I've been on the English Wikipedia since 2013. It'd be more convenient, at least, than copy pasting the entirety of an old version of an article—something I've done in the past. I hope you will consider my request. Thank you. I am kindly requesting rollback permissions for myself, in order to revert vandalism using the Huggle tool. Dell Latitude E6400 (talk) 16:50, 6 February 2025 (UTC)

Requests for template editor |

Template editor[edit]
I have been working on creating and expanding articles related to baseball and softball teams, mainly from Latin America and Europe. Since these articles heavily rely on Module:Sports color, which is protected, to properly display team colors in infoboxes and other tables, I would like to request the rights to edit this protected module. I have requested several edits to this specific module in the past; however, I believe it would be more efficient if I could make these edits myself. In the past, I have created and worked on different modules and templates related to other topics that interest me, such as public transportation and other sports (e.g., Module:Adjacent stations/Mexico City Metro, Module:Adjacent stations/Prague Metro, Template:Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional, Template:Hiroshima Toyo Carp managers). If administrators would consider it appropriate, I am also open to a temporary grant of editing rights to continue improving these articles. Thanks in advance. Cocu15 (talk) 22:59, 3 February 2025 (UTC)
I come across bugs in template-protected templates from time to time, and I think I'm proficient enough to fix them without someone else checking it over. For instance, I recently submitted an edit request to fix {{Huggle/warn-unsor-2}}'s substitution behavior, and I found a similar issue in {{uw-editsummary2}}. I understand that edits to widely-used templates should be tested in a sandbox first, that they should reflect consensus, and that they can have nontrivial performance costs. jlwoodwa (talk) 01:51, 8 February 2025 (UTC) |

"Do you want to take a survey?"
[edit]On Feb. 12, 2005, I did a random pages survey. Out of 100 random pages, only 1 was a U.S. town. That's progress. Three towns in the UK, 1 in Spain and 1 in Portugal also turned up. Overall biographies were the largest category at 22%, followed by geography with 15% total. Then Lists at 7%, Disambiguation pages at 6%.
On Feb. 24, 2006, I repeated the 100 random page survey, this time getting 5 U.S. towns. Overall, geography had 26%, biography 21%, fiction 9%, music 4%, colleges 4%, lists 3% and disambigs 4%. Clearly geography and biography are our largest areas. Music, science and business scored less than I expected. Non-individual History was hardly discernable.
Even by Feb. 2005, 100 out of almost 500,000 was not statistically significant but was as much as I had patience for.
